A clear, concise and well-informed article. I have nothing to comment except perhaps that in two sections the potential cost of lack of imprinting for the offspring is given as the possibility of aggression by other adults. In fact a sufficient potential cost would be that other adults would ignore the begging or following offspring. Simply adding the cost of being ignored would be sufficient pressure to imprint and recognise one's parent.
A wonderful piece by perhaps the best informed scholar in the field.
