Uriel Frisch (b. Dec. 10, 1940 in Agen, France) received his B.S. in 1962 and Ph.D. in 1967 in Applied Mathematics from University of Paris, after which he stayed at French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). Today he is the Research Director Emeritus.
Dr. Frisch has received numerous honors and awards for his research. He received the Peccot Prize from the Collège de France in 1967 for his thesis. He also received the Bazin Prize form Academy of Sciences for work on turbulence in 1985, and the Knight National Order of Merit in 1994. He was the Recipient Lewis Fry Richardson medal of Eur.
