Encyclopedia of Computational Neuroscience

Computational neuroscience is a subfield of neuroscience that uses mathematical methods to simulate and understand the function of the nervous system.

Among participants of Encyclopedia of Computatinal Neuroscience are M. Abeles (the inventor of Synfire Chains), Leon Cooper (the co-inventor of BCM Theory), A. Destexhe (High-conductance state and Spike-and-wave oscillations), B. Ermentrout (the creator of XPPAUT and Ermentrout-Kopell canonical model), R. FitzHugh (the inventor of FitzHugh-Nagumo model), H. Haken (the creator of Synergetics), J.J. Hopfield (the inventor of Hopfield network), T. Kohonen (the inventor of Kohonen network), H. Lecar (the inventor of Morris-Lecar model), W. Rall (the inventor of Rall model), W. Singer (the inventor of the concept of Binding by synchrony), I. Tasaki (the discoverer of Saltatory conduction), and many others.
