Split-screen movie of AO-corrected (left) and uncorrected granulation images. Corrections are applied by a 97-actuator deformable mirror. Image motion of the uncorrected images has been stabilized by means of a flat tip/tilt mirror. There is a clear difference in image quality between the two image sequences. However, residual seeing deformations are still visible in the AO-corrected images. Observations obtained with the R.B. Dunn Solar Telescope of the National Solar Observatory at Sacramento Peak (NM).
