Prof. Tipu Aziz is a neurosurgeon and has pioneered work on Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and applied it successfully for patients suffering from Parkinson's Disease, tremors and dystonia. His research has brought focus on the therapeutic benefits of DBS which is being used to treat a variety of treatment-resistant movement and affective disorders. He is also developing DBS techniques for the control of blood pressure and for the treatment of depression.
