The review process in Scholarpedia is different from that of other peer-reviewed journals: It is more effective and you may actually find it interesting. In particular, you could modify the article directly and your review will be stored in the public archive and available to the community even 50 years from now.

For your information, Scholarpedia is a free peer reviewed encyclopedia written by scholars, mostly by the original authors/inventors. For example, "Fuzzy logic" was written by its inventor, Lotfi Zadeh; "Synergetics" and "Self-organization" were written by their creator, Herman Haken; "Echolocation in bats" was written by its discoverer, Robert Galambos ; "MRI" was written by its inventor, the late Paul Lauterbur; similarly "fMRI" was written by its inventor, Seiji Ogawa; and "Saltatory Conduction" was written by its discoverer (in 1938), Ichiji Tasaki.

Among authors of Scholarpedia are many Nobel Laureates and Fields Medalists; see http://www.scholarpedia.org/article/Scholarpedia:Authors

As an indication of the authoritativeness of articles, many Scholarpedia articles are eponymous with their authors. For example, Anatol M. Zhabotinsky wrote "Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction", Yakov Sinai wrote "Kolmogorov-Sinai entropy", and John J. Hopfield wrote "Hopfield network".

If you cannot review this article, please let me know, via the link above, as soon as possible.

    Yours sincerely,

Robert P. O'Shea, Editor of Vision for Scholarpedia Professor and Head, Psychology, Southern Cross University, Hogbin Drive, Coffs Harbour 2450, Australia phone: +61 2 6659 3313; fax: +61 2 6659 3202 e-mail: robert.oshea@scu.edu.au www: <http://www.researcherid.com/rid/C-5723-2008>
