    This article is well written and is in line how most scientists recently use "diurnal". The paper could be slightly improved - see suggestions below:


    Fig.1: Circadian rhythms are very close to 24h. Their definition, as being 20-28h rhythms, is not based on recent data. On the figure, their should be a sign showing that, although comprised between 20-28h by definition, circadian rhythms have a period very close to 24h in all species.

    Fig.1: their is no difference between the bar c (synchronized tau) and the bar d (disease) desynchronized tau). The desynchronized state should not show an entrained rhythm.


    Fig.1, legend: "circadian can vary" is unclear. Please elaborate.

    Fig.48: are very difficult to read, and their printouts are of very bad quality. They should be contrasted/improved. Also, the bibliographical references from which the figures are extracted should be given as to allow the reader to go back to the original papers.

    References: it is a pity that the list of suggested readings provided bu the authors refers only to the authors work.
