9/26/10: My earlier comment has not been taken care of. Accuracy is reduced by mass lump for higher than second order methods. The sentence referring to optimal accuracy should be removed.
The end of section 1.2: mass-lumping yields optimal convergence rates only for piecewise linear elements. For higher order elements there is a reduction of accuracy. This sentence needs to be modified.
