    Dr. Adrian Cheok (b. December 18, 1971 in Adelaide, Australia) received a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Adelaide in 1993. At the same institution he completed a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 1998. He was Assistant Professor from 1998 to 2004 at the National University of Singapore and Associate Professor from 2006 to 2011. He is currently Professor of Pervasive Computing at City University, London. Additionally he is the Director of the Imagineering Institute, Malaysia and the founder and director of the Mixed Reality Lab, Singapore.

    Dr. Cheok has been a keynote speaker and panel member at many international conferences. In 2008 the World Economic Forum named him as a Young Global Leader. In 2010 Harvard University awarded Dr. Cheok a Graduate Diploma in Global Leadership and Public Policy. He was recognised as a Distinguished Alumni of the University of Adelaide in 2016, in recognition of his contributions in the field of Computing, Engineering and Multisensory communication.

    Cheok has made major contributions to research on augmented and mixed reality, embodied media, and pervasive computing. His peer-reviewed articles on these topics number over 200. In addition he has written four books and many book chapters.
