Numerical analysis has the goal of constructing and analyzing approximate solutions to problems which cannot be solved exactly. These approximate solutions are applied in physics, astrophysics, engineering, chemistry, biology, medicine, economics and many other disciplines. Approximate solutions and computational simulations are important tools for the development of the many disciplines to which they are applied.
